Warranty
Every product sold by Republic Night Vision carries the original manufacturer's warranty. We act as your single point of contact for warranty work — you ship the device to Austin, we coordinate the rest with the manufacturer.
How warranty coverage works
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and product line. Each product page lists the specific warranty length and what it covers. As a general rule:
- Devices (monoculars, binoculars, quads, thermals) — covered by the manufacturer's standard term. Typically 1–2 years on housings and tubes; some manufacturers extend further on registered devices.
- Intensifier tubes — separate warranty from the housing they're mounted in. Most carry a 1-year limited warranty against defects, longer on certain Aviation Spot lines.
- Mounts, helmets, lasers, lights, accessories — covered per the brand's published policy.
- Service work performed by Republic (collimation, purge, tube swap) — 90 days on the work itself.
What is covered
- Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
- Premature tube failure within warranty period (subject to manufacturer inspection)
- Optical alignment falling out of spec within 30 days of receipt
What is not covered
- Damage from drops, impacts, water exposure beyond the rated environmental spec, or unauthorized disassembly
- Cosmetic wear from normal use
- Tube cosmetics within the manufacturer's acceptable-blemish standards (this varies by brand — see the device's spec sheet)
- Damage from sun exposure or other intentional bright-light exposure
Filing a claim
- Contact us first at /pages/contact or by replying to your order confirmation email. Describe the issue and include photos if relevant.
- We'll send you shipping instructions and an RMA reference. Do not ship a device without an RMA — unidentified shipments can stall in receiving.
- Ship insured to the address we provide. Republic does not cover inbound shipping for warranty claims unless the issue is a defect Republic introduced (e.g., service work).
- We inspect, coordinate with the manufacturer, and send the device back to you. Typical turnaround once we receive it: 5–15 business days for inspection, additional time depends on whether the manufacturer needs to perform work.
Out-of-warranty service
If your device is out of warranty, we still handle repair intake and bench work. See Repairs & Service Intake. Quotes are provided before any work begins.
Questions
For any warranty question not covered here, email or call us before shipping. We'd rather answer questions up front than process returns that didn't need to be returns.
